Flyers Look to Start a New Winning Streak

The Philadelphia Flyers (3-6, 6 pts) will faceoff against the Tampa Bay Lightning (6-2, 12 pts) for the second time this season out of three meetings. The Lightning took apart the Flyers in the first meeting winning 5-1 after scoring 3 PowerPlay goals. It was during goaltender Michael Leighton's first start of the season. Tonight will be Ilya Bryzgalov's chance to help the Flyers even the series out at 1. Bryzgalov has played very well for the Flyers this season with a GAA (goals against average) of 2.40 and save percentage of .920.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have been red hot so far this season, scoring an NHL high 39 goals in 8 games (the next highest is team has 31). In fact Tampa Bay has only been held under 3 goals one time this season. Saturday night the New York Rangers defeated the Lightning 3-2, which was their first loss in 5 games and was the only game of their season in which they were held to under 3 goals.
